72 yr old billionaire Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu marries 26 yr old bride

Owerri, Nigeria – Two years after loosing his wife of 40 years, Edora, to cancer, 72-year-old billionnaire businessman and chairman of Champion newspaper, Emmanuel Iwuayanwu decided to make a fresh start in marriage.

Chief Iwuayanwu married 26-year-old Frances Chinonyerem Enwerem, the daughter of his wife’s close friend, with a traditional wedding on Saturday 14th September and the “White” wedding on Saturday 21st September in Owerri, Imo State.

Chief Iwuayanwu’s children does not approve of the marriage because of the age-gap and the new bride is said to be expecting her first child with the extremely rich businessman.

Chief Iwuayanwu is the founder of the Iwuanyanwu Nationale Football Club (now Heartland F.C.), which won several national and international championships

Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has numerous business interests spanning various industries in Nigeria including Construction, Insurance, Agriculture, Sports, Newspaper, Airline and Shipping.

He has been awarded prestigious honours including National Honour of the Distinguished Order of Member of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is also a well known philanthropist. A graduate of Civil Engineering from the University of Nsukka in 1971.He has numerous Doctorate degrees from various universities across Nigeria.

He had a promising political career and at different times ran for the office of the presidency of Nigeria. He also held several political offices for the Nigerian government, notably in sports administration and management of federal roads maintenance. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the ruling People’s Democratic Party and coordinated the party’s campaign for the South-East zone during the 2003 Presidential election.
