The Kuomboka ceremony of the Lozi in Western Province is scheduled to take place next month and it is expected to attract lots of national and international tourists as usual. Kuomboka is a word in the Lozi language which means ‘to get out of water.’ Kuomboka is also the name of a traditional ceremony that takes place at the end of the rain season when the upper Zambezi River floods the plains of the Western Province.

The event is a major tourist attraction in Zambia. The Kuomboka Ceremony is always a beautiful sight to behold as the Lozi people proudly flaunt their ancient traditions and culture through drumming, dancing and merrymaking.

This year’s Kuomboka ceremony has been scheduled to hold on 4th April 2020.
